Windfinder.com provides wind, waves & weather worldwide and in real time as well as weather maps, webcams, weather stations, tide calendars, an address directory, weather widgets and news to mainly windsurfers, kitesurfers, surfers and sailors..
In cooperation with the SVG publishing company (Seglerzeitung, Bootsbörse, Wassersport im Westen, Sail24.com) Windfinder provides SMS-weather for sailors.

Windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing: Almost all of our visitors are windsurfers, kitesurfers and surfers. The age of our targeted customers is mainly between 18 and 45 years old. Many of them do other funsports like snowboarding, skiing, mountainbiking, skateboarding. Since a wind- or kitesurfing equipment costs around 2.000 - 2.500 €, the people who do these sports have an above average income available. For the customers of Windfinder applies one principle: Time is money!
Sailing: According to an analysis by Allensbacher of advertisement media there are more than 3 million sailors in Germany. Sailing schools have reported strong growth rates. Since the victory of the German Illbruck team at the Volvo Ocean Race, sailing has greatly gained in popularity in Germany. Many sailors have an above average education, are self-employed or (senior) executives and have an high income at their disposal.

Global: If you want to reach windsurfers, kitesurfers and/or surfers worldwide you should place your banners on the entire Windfinder website (run of site) or on the heavily used category entry pages (Home, Waves, Surfcams, Weather, Tides). Your banners will then show up in rotation with other banners. In this case payment is per ad impression. You decide how many ad impressions are to be delivered over which time period.

Target Banners: If you want to narrow down your target group locally/geographically to certain countries, regions or surfspots (e.g. Wind forecast Canary Islands or wind report + forecast Tarifa), then place your ads exclusively on those pages. Targeting by sport: If you want to reach windsurfers and kitesurfers you should book banners on the wind related pages. If you want to attract surfers you should go for the wave & swell related pages. Payment for target banners is flat per month. If you want payment per ad impressions simply multiply the prices from the above chart by 1.2.

For each banner campaign you can track the number of banner views and clicks online and in real time.
Windfinder lists nearby windsurfing, kitesurfing & surfing schools and shops for each local weather page. Example: The nearest surfshops and schools for Kahului/Maui are listed on the corresponding wind report and forecast page on the left under Surfshops and Surfschools. Each listing has a link to a map with the exact location of the shop/school. We can turn your listing to bold font, move it to the top of the list and make the link to your website (instead of the map location). If you want to reach your target group this easily and with little financial effort just make a payment via Paypal to oliver@windfinder.com and your site will be linked on all nearby wind report and forecast pages when we receive the payment.
On each page for our more than 1000 hundred real time wind graphs you can have your kites, windsurf sails or boards displayed in the correct size according to the current windspeed. If you click on the Best Kite, Sail, or Board you'll be redireted to the site of the advertiser. see example.
Each quarter year Windfinder sends an English newsletter to 23.000 windsurfers, kitesurfers and surfers worldwide with a focus on German/European subscribers.
